LOVE
I launched World of Music in January 2019 from my living room in South Pasadena, CA. We focus on teaching a love for music through ensemble classes and one-on-one instruction. Our classes are designed so that even beginners with no prior musical experience can learn to play together. This way, the students get to experience the “doing” of music instead of just the training and preparing in hopes of one day being “good enough” to audition for a band. Additionally, we offer private classes for students who want a curriculum tailored to their specific interests and goals on their instrument. Now, in our new physical location in nearby Alhambra, CA, we are able to offer a wider variety of instruments to learn and more diverse classes. We also provide virtual music lessons and Spanish-language lessons for local school districts that offer dual-immersion courses and we also offer classes for for students from local charter schools offering non-sectarian classes.

Vision
Now with my 20+ years teaching and performing experience, I have developed my own approach to teaching based on the feeling I got from playing with other musicians. Here at World of Music, we focus on teaching our students to love and enjoy music through a playing based approach. I get asked if we teach how to read music at our school. My response is always the same, “I want to teach my students to love music as deeply and passionately as I do”. Once the student loves music, it will be more enjoyable to learn music theory.
